USM Open Individual event 2009

10/01/09 I had to rush from school down to USM but luckily I made it in time. Round 1, I was playing agianst some USM guy and the same thing goes for round 2. Due to problems to the computer round 3 was delayed to the next morning and the rounds have been shortened(correct me if I'm wrong) to seven rounds.

11/01/09 Round 3, I was supposed to play with NM Ronnie Lim but they change the pairing again and I played against Tan Khai Boon. The game was kind of complicated but in the end I lost. Round 4, I played with some malay boy and I won easily. Round 5 was the worst of all of the game. I lost to Hoh Tjin Hui unexpectedly actually it was more like I was afraid I was gonna lose to some kids especialy little girls because I always feel that a weird aura keeps coming to me when I play with little girls or boys and that makes me nerveous. It's like they some hidden potential inside of them and they can play some super GM move. Round 6, another USM student which is not that good but I still make some major mistake during the game but she didn't saw it and in the end I won. Round 7, I played against William Lee Kah Howe (He's Elgin's brother and he's the most playful one among the three brothers). Due to time control problem, William accidentally gave a free bishop and lost the game. Most of the players were confident that Evan was gonna get open prize champion but who knew he lost the last round to NM Ronnie Lim. In the end, I couldn't even get a prize for under 18.

Overall I think this is one of my worst tournaments ever.
